60-second Quick Start

Three things to do first — they set up everything else:

• 1 · Add your pet — tell Pet Maven your pet's species, breed, age, and weight. It takes under a minute.
• 2 · Check your wellness picture — Pet Maven builds a daily wellness score from breed data and what you've entered, so you can see how your pet's doing at a glance.
• 3 · Turn on what matters — enable recall alerts and set a reminder or two (medications, feeding, vet visits) so nothing slips through the cracks.

Setting up your account

You can start using Pet Maven right away. When you're ready to back up your pets and sync across devices, create an account with your email — we'll send a one-time code to sign you in, no password to remember. Signing in keeps your pet profiles and journal safely stored and available on any device you use.

Your pet profiles

Add a profile for each pet — species, breed, age, weight, and a photo. Pet Maven uses these details to personalize your wellness picture and breed-specific guidance. A Premium membership covers up to 6 pets, so the whole household — dogs and cats together — lives in one app.

Your Wellness Score

Your pet's Wellness Score is a simple daily snapshot built from their profile and the information you log — breed, age, and the activity and notes you add over time. It's meant to give you an at-a-glance sense of how things are trending, and a nudge toward what to pay attention to. It is a general informational guide, not a medical assessment (see Not veterinary advice).

Recall alerts

Pet Maven surfaces pet food and product recalls drawn from public sources, including FDA recall data, so you can spot something that may affect your pet and act quickly. Open the recalls area in the app to see the latest. Recall information can lag or be incomplete — always confirm a recall through the manufacturer's or regulator's official notice before acting on it.

Health Journal

Keep vet visits, medications, activity, weight, and day-to-day observations in one place. Add entries as they happen, filter by category, and look back over time to spot patterns — it's a tidy record you can bring to your next vet appointment.

Breed insights & recommendations

Based on your pet's breed, age, and weight, Pet Maven offers general guidance on things owners of that breed often watch for, plus suggestions for food, supplements, and wellness products. These are general, informational suggestions to help you learn — not prescriptions. Always check with your vet before making changes to your pet's diet, supplements, or care.

Reminders

Set reminders for medications, feeding, grooming, or vet appointments, and Pet Maven will notify you on schedule (one-time, daily, or weekly). To receive them, allow notifications for Pet Maven when prompted — you can change this anytime in your device's system Settings.

Backup & sync across devices

Sign in and your pet profiles and journal are backed up to your account and kept in sync. Get a new phone or add a tablet? Just sign in again and everything is there. Your data is private to you — see our Privacy Policy for details.

Premium membership

Pet Maven starts with a 14-day free trial of the full app. After the trial, a Premium membership keeps everything — AI wellness insights, the health journal, reminders, breed guidance, and up to 6 pets — for $9.99/month or $69.99/year (save 42%). FDA recall alerts are always free, even without a subscription. Subscriptions are billed through your App Store or Google Play account, and you can manage or cancel them anytime in your app store subscription settings.

Settings & account

• Notifications — turn reminders and alerts on or off in the app, and allow notifications for Pet Maven in your device Settings.
• Restore purchases — subscribed already? Use Restore Purchases in Settings after reinstalling or switching devices.
• Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings.

Not veterinary advice

Troubleshooting

• I'm not getting reminders. Make sure notifications are allowed for Pet Maven in your device's system Settings, and that the reminder is turned on in the app.
• I didn't get my sign-in code. Check your spam folder. Still nothing after a few minutes? Contact us.
• My pets aren't showing on my new device. Make sure you're signed in to the same account you used before — your profiles and journal sync to that account.
• My subscription isn't showing. Tap Restore Purchases in Settings, and make sure you're signed in to the same app store account you subscribed with.
• A recall looks out of date. Recall feeds can lag. Always verify against the manufacturer's or regulator's official notice.
